Woo Alumni in CO

on

This week has been great. 4 solid workouts. Big plans for the weekend. But the best part of all, is that I got to spend quality time with 8 Wooster (college days) friends!

Two dear friends from Wooster stopped through Boulder on their road trip/way to Cali this week. And they spent two days with us here! It was so great to see them, show off Boulder a little, and most excitedly, celebrate their brand new engagement. These two couldn’t be more perfect for one another, and I’m totally proud to say, I was with them the day they met. Summer ’06. That summer was one of the best.

We went for a gorgeous hike to the top of Royal Arches (in Chautauqua park), out to eat at my local faves, wandered around Pearl Street, and popped champagne to celebrate their engagement. And even snuck in a short engagement photography sesh. We had a blast.

Then last night, I unexpectedly heard word that a whole group of Wooster friends (buddies that ran XC and track with me) were flying into town for the Wild West (200 mile, running) Relay. I hadn’t seen some of these guys in ages, and I jumped at the opportunity to pick them up at the airport. We went to dinner in Denver and laughed and caught up. Man, it was good to see these guys.

Go Woo XC!

I get all teary eyed (in a good way) looking at this photo, thinking about all the times we’ve had together, and how much we’ve all grown up since Woo, despite looking (and acting) the same :) A lot has changed in 4 years, but those guys are all still the same wild, hilarious, down to earth, sweet, cool guys I’ve always known and loved. So good to see them.

And to round out the most fun Wooster-alumni week possible, Weez and I are going backpacking this weekend with friends and another Woo bud who moved here a few weeks ago from Arizona (Colin, above in red, and his gf).

Life is good for Wooster Alumni out here in Colorado this week :) Life is good.

How often do you see your college buds?
What are you up to this weekend?
Have a fun, active weekend! See ya on Monday!

What an awesome week of reunions! I see my college buds a few times a year when I fly back to NYC and it’s always a blast!
Tonight the hubby and I are going on a gondola boat ride to celebrate our 8 months of marriage :) And tomorrow I’m getting back on the running train starting with an easy 2-4 miler, followed by lots of playtime with our new pup!
