Hello, Hillsboro!

Check #1 off my list of 28 Before 28! We’ve made the big move to Portland!

Weez, Cabo, and I are finally reunited and it feels so good. We’re settling into our new home in Hillsboro (Oregon) and LOVING it.

Let me back up: 1 week ago, I flew back to the states from a 2-week vacation in France (recap to come!). I flew into Denver, stayed the night with a friend in Boulder who took care of Cabo, then hit the road for the 20-hr road trip first thing in the morning.

My mom flew out to help me with the drive (because she’s the best) and we laughed for 1300 miles. Literally. She had me crying I was laughing so hard. We didn’t turn on the radio once. It was by far the most fun road trip I’ve ever been on; one that will go down in the memory books. Aside from the fabulous company, the geography was incredible: WY –> Utah –> Idaho –> Oregon. Such a pretty drive.

Mom, Cabo, and I arrived in Hillsboro on Wednesday, October 23rd to a very happy Weez who was pumped to have us out west. Feels so great to be a family again.

I’ll definitely share pictures from our new pad sometime soon, but we’re still unpacking and the place is a little cluttered. All the boxes are unpacked at this point, and we’re hanging frames/art on the walls. Almost done!

There’s a reason I’m not the one to hang art in our home. This is what happened when my mom and I tried hanging this a few days ago.

Naaaaaaailed it.

And lastly, the running is our new town is great so far. I’ve yet to find dirt trails from our front door (Boulder, you spoiled me), but this paved creek trail ain’t half bad! Pretty lovely if ya ask me.

So welcome to my new neck of the woods! We love it!

PS. T-minus 4 days until the Silver Falls Trail Marathon! Gulp.

That is one FINE job hanging art! I lol’d, for reals. Tell Weez that wearing camo in the woods is a good way to get lost. Have a great Tuesday!

  2. Hillsboro! That’s where my sis lived in PA school (she went to Pacifica) so I used to visit her there all the time. I did that same drive with her multiple times too (DEN-Hillsboro) and you’re right– so pretty. Glad you made it safe and sound!

So glad your settling in…and all back together again!

Good luck with your marathon, I’m excited to hear all about it!
